Test Engineer
  • Plan and conduct full vehicle crash tests (frontal, side, rear, rollover) and component-level tests (e.g., seats, airbags).

  • Prepare test vehicles, including sensor installation, dummy positioning, and data acquisition system setup.

  • Ensure compliance with international crash test protocols (NCAP, FMVSS, UNECE, etc.).

  • Monitor and operate test equipment such as high-speed cameras, crash sleds, propulsion systems, and sensors.

  • Collect and analyze test data to evaluate structural integrity and occupant injury criteria (HIC, chest deflection, neck loads, etc.).

  • Support root cause analysis and provide engineering recommendations for design improvements.

  • Coordinate with Dummy Engineers and Safety Design Engineers to ensure accurate instrumentation and results.

  • Document all procedures, test results, and deviations; prepare detailed technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Maintain testing equipment and support calibration and quality assurance processes.

  • Continuously improve test methods, tools, and data analysis workflows.



Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in vehicle crash testing or automotive safety validation.
  • Experience with crash labs, NCAP protocols, and data acquisition systems.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in vehicle crash test instrumentation and setup.
  • Familiarity with anthropomorphic test devices (ATDs) and injury biomechanics.
  • Experience with crash data analysis software (e.g., DIAdem, nCode, MATLAB, CANalyzer).
  • Understanding of vehicle safety systems (airbags, seatbelts, body structure).
