Automation Test Engineer (12-month Hybrid role)

We're on the lookout for a sharp, proactive Automation Test Engineer to join a dynamic Agile team at one of SA’s leading banks. What You’ll Be Doing

• Build and maintain robust test automation frameworks from the ground up
• Design, develop, and execute detailed test cases, plans, and scripts (manual + automated)
• Own testing for complex systems, including functional, regression, integration, and API testing
• Collaborate closely with devs, BAs, and other QA engineers to ensure high-quality releases
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Identify defects early and drive resolutions efficiently
• Communicate test progress and quality metrics to key stakeholders
• Champion QA best practices, process enhancements, and maintain compliance with banking standards

Tech Stack & Tools You’ll Work With

• Automation Tools: Selenium, Playwright
• Languages: JavaScript, C#, SQL, PostgreSQL
• API Testing: Postman, RESTful APIs
• CI/CD & Version Control: Git, pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Performance Testing (Bonus): JMeter or K6
• Cloud Exposure (Bonus): AWS, with AWS Cloud Practitioner certification
• Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of payments systems; ISO 20022 experience is a big plus

• 3–5+ years of experience in automation testing within payments space
• Proven track record working in banking or financial services
• Payments domain experience is essential
• Comfortable working in fast-paced Agile teams
• Strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment
• Analytical thinker with relentless attention to detail
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn and share knowledge
