CONTRACTOR Wanted: Automation Test Engineer
Duration: 3 months
Outside IR35
Rate: Β£400 per day
Location: Remote / Manchester HQ
Brief: You will work with the IT Director to establish automation frameworks and processes and then provide knowledge transfer and training to a newly hired QA Tester.
Stack is C# .NET, SQL Server, Azure, Javascript
This organisations build web ecommerce platforms with APIs / data integrations that deliver merchandising, gaming and affiliate marketing.

What you'll do
β’ Analysing requirements and stories/features to derive test cases
β’ Develop and implement our Automation Test Framework
β’ Creating and maintaining test scripts
β’ Manual test script execution
β’ Defect logging and retesting
β’ Use of test management and defect tracking tools
β’ Reporting weekly progress on test preparation and test execution tasks
β’ Production release testing and production testing
β’ Collaborating with the team to help develop and support our continuous integration approach
β’ Working within the team to help developers and others created automated unit tests
Essential Qualities
β’ First-hand experience as a tester in an agile environment
β’ Experience testing web and mobile apps
β’ Experience with using automated testing tools such as Selenium
β’ Familiarity with Automated build systems such as Team City
β’ Familiarity conducting Cross Browser Testing using BrowserStack or similar product
β’ Ability to work under own initiative
β’ Ability to liaise directly with Product Owner, development teams and other subject matter
experts to resolve queries and problems
β’ Well organised and high attention to detail
β’ Able to prioritise and handle multiple priorities
Desirable
β’ ISQTB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
β’ Supporting business users during UAT
β’ Experience with project management tools, such as Trello or Asana
β’ Familiarity with Jira, and TestRail in the testing process
β’ Experience with non-functional, performance, and security testing
β’ Experience with using Git or other version control system
β’ A good understanding of C# and .Net Core
β’ Ability to write and execute SQL statements
β’ Experience with using Visual Studio
β’ An understanding of BDD and TDD
β’ Familiarity with automated build systems such as Team City
β’ Website load testing with JMeter or similar tools
