Embedded Software Test Engineer - Vehicle Control (C / SIL)

A leading engineering services company is building a new embedded software team in Romania, as part of a strategic nearshoring initiative in the industrial automation sector. The company is currently expanding its local engineering capabilities in Ploiesti, with a focus on embedded software testing for electronic control systems in industrial vehicles.

As part of its growth, the company is now hiring an Embedded Software Test Engineer who will contribute to the validation and quality assurance of embedded software components developed in close collaboration with an international R&D team.

🎯 Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute test cases for embedded software modules written in C
• Perform software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing to validate system functionality without requiring physical hardware
• Analyze test results, identify bugs or deviations, and collaborate with developers for resolution
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and tools (CI/CT)
• Participate in the preparation of future integration and interface tests, involving hardware elements such as sensors, actuators, and microcontrollers
• Work closely with remote software development teams in an international environment

✅ Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Technical Skills:
• Hands-on experience with embedded software testing
• Solid programming skills in C
• Familiar with unit testing, module testing, and integration testing methodologies
• Previous exposure to embedded systems, microcontrollers, or ECU environments is a strong plus
• Basic scripting knowledge (e.g. Python) is a plus
• Experience with CI/CD and automated test environments is considered an advantage
