Intermediate QA Engineer - South Africa
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-driven Intermediate QA Engineer to join our Quality
Assurance team. This role is suited to a quality-focused professional who takes ownership of product
reliability and actively contributes to improving test strategy and delivery standards.
You will play a critical role in ensuring our web and mobile applications are stable, scalable, and
user-centric. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong test design capability, structured thinking, and the
ability to work confidently within Agile delivery teams.
This is not a βtest case executorβ role β we are looking for someone who thinks critically, challenges
assumptions, and proactively improves quality.
Key Responsibilities
Test Analysis & Design
Γ’ Analyse business and functional requirements and identify testable conditions.
Γ’ Design comprehensive, risk-based test scenarios and test cases.
Γ’ Contribute to sprint-level and release-level test planning.
Γ’ Identify gaps, ambiguities, and risks early in the development lifecycle.
Required Experience & Skills
Γ’ 4β6 years of hands-on experience in software testing (manual focus).
Γ’ Strong test case design skills (boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, negative testing,
etc.).
Γ’ Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
Γ’ Experience working with Jira (or similar defect management tools).
Γ’ Experience using test management tools (TestRail, Zephyr, or similar).
Γ’ Experience testing APIs (Postman or equivalent).
Γ’ Working knowledge of SQL for data validation.
Γ’ Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills.
Γ’ Ability to independently manage workload and priorities.
Γ’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Γ’ High attention to detail and structured documentation skills.
Test Execution & Validation
Γ’ Execute functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across web and mobile
platforms.
Γ’ Validate API integrations using tools such as Postman.
Γ’ Perform database validations using SQL where required.
Γ’ Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
Γ’ Provide clear, structured test evidence and reporting.
Defect Management
Γ’ Log clear, reproducible, high-quality defects in Jira.
Γ’ Perform impact analysis and assist in root cause discussions.
Γ’ Track defects through to resolution and retest effectively.
Agile Collaboration
Γ’ Actively participate in sprint ceremonies (planning, refinement, stand-ups, retros).
Γ’ Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders.
Γ’ Provide input on acceptance criteria and the Definition of Done.

Highly Preferred
Γ’ iGaming industry experience.
Γ’ ISTQB Foundation (or higher).
Γ’ Experience testing transactional or high-availability systems.
Γ’ Experience with browser compatibility and usability testing.
Γ’ Exposure to version control systems (Git).
Nice to Have
Γ’ Exposure to automation frameworks (even if not hands-on).
Γ’ Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
Γ’ Basic understanding of performance or security testing concepts.
