Junior QA Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY: This is a contract-based position for a highly capable QA professional with 1-3 years of experience in functional testing, defect tracking, and reporting. You will play a key role in maintaining the quality and performance of our digital products, ensuring they meet defined standards and delivery timelines. Your attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment will help ensure a seamless user experience across multiple platforms. This position reports to the QA Manager. As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for invoicing your services. You'll work closely with our team across departments, participating in meetings, and contributing to company initiatives.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:00am - 4:00am CST

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design comprehensive test cases.
• Conduct functional and regression testing to identify and address potential issues.
• Track and register defects, collaborating with the development team to ensure timely resolution (defect lifecycle).
• Retest applications after bug fixes to confirm effective resolution.
• Provide daily status updates to team leaders and project stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Language: Proficiency in English is required. Additional language skills are a plus.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1-3 years of experience in a QA role, with demonstrated proficiency in functional testing, defect tracking, and reporting.
• Experience testing mobile applications, including executing test cases, identifying defects, and verifying fixes on Android and/or iOS devices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
• Strong familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including both Waterfall and Agile.
• Certifications, Licenses and Registrations: ISTQB Foundation Level certification is a plus.
• Training/Professional Development Requirements:
• Experience integrating AI-assisted testing solutions into functional QA workflows to drive smarter test design and execution.
• Basic knowledge of API testing, including validating endpoints, request/response structures, and HTTP status codes.
• Tools and Equipment Used: Familiarity with virtual communication tools and remote collaboration platforms.
• Familiarity with test case management and defect tracking tools.
