Job Description

β€’ This person will work with a cross-functional design team, particularly in power electronics to determine testing requirements for our client's Solutions products. Β 

β€’ This person will perform, with some assistance, test procedures, motor characterization and reports.

β€’ This person will perform tasks with one-on-one supervision to meet quality, delivery and cost goals. This position requires technical judgment and independent thinking to solve problems and complete assigned projects.


Duties:Β 

β€’ Gather and format test requirements from internal and external customers with assistance from others. Review and provide proper feedback about the requirements.

β€’ Perform and oversee, with assistance, the performance of power electronic Product Verification and Validation testing performed internally or externally.

β€’ Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of testing results and schedule progress. Communicate results and schedule progress to internal and external customers.

β€’ Employ troubleshooting and debugging strategies; determine root cause with support from others and provide support in troubleshooting.

β€’ Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers.

β€’ Work closely with other project team members as needed to ensure the testing is performed as specified in the product specifications.

β€’ Travel as needed to accomplish the tasks required of this position, including meeting with customers to generate and/or revise concepts and product requirements.

β€’ Support other needs of the department as needed.


Qualifications

Education:Β 


β€’ Minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ag Engineering, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited engineering program.Β 


Skills and Experience:


Required:

β€’ Understanding of the basics of embedded controllers

β€’ Understanding of safe higher voltage practices

β€’ Understanding of motor control and system testing

β€’ Understanding of the basics of design validation

β€’ Good written and verbal communications skills (English)

β€’ Good organization skills (multi-tasking)

β€’ Good customer service skills


Desired:

β€’ Experience with product development

β€’ Understanding of motor control software (PU2)

β€’ Experience with dynos

β€’ Experience with fixture design

β€’ Experience with development and debugging tools (e.g. oscilloscopes, multi-meters, etc.)

β€’ Experience with microcontroller peripherals and systems (e.g. PWM outputs, boot loaders, A/D converters, serial and parallel interfaces, etc.)

β€’ Experience with communication networks (e.g. CAN, Ethernet, RS-232/485, etc.)

β€’ Experience with communication protocols (e.g. J1939, ISO11783, TCP/IP, etc.)
