Duties & Responsibilities

About the role

You'll be the person responsible for taking their testing to the next level. They need someone who can build a practical automated test suite from where we are today, plug it into their deploy process, and use AI tools wherever they genuinely help speed things up.

They're not looking for someone who wants to spend six months building a perfect framework. They need pragmatic automation that catches the things that actually break in production, and that grows steadily as they ship.

What you'll do

  • Design and write automated tests: end-to-end, integration Buildout our CI/CD test pipeline, so tests run automatically on every change
  • Identify which parts of the product give the highest return on automation and start there
  • Use AI tools to speed up test writing, test data generation, and coverage analysis
  • Maintain and improve the existing test suite as the product evolves
  • Work with developers to make the code more testable
  • Partner with their manual QA tester to decide what gets automated and what stays manual
  • Help investigate failures, flaky tests, and production issues

Desired Experience & Qualification

What they're looking for

  • 3-5 years in software testing, with at least 2 years in test automation
  • Hands-on experience writing automated tests (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar - whichever you know well)
  • Comfortable with at least one programming language used for testing (JavaScript / TypeScript, Python, or similar)
  • Experience with Github and Github Actions
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how to integrate tests into them
  • Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing - and a sense for when to use each
  • Experience using AI tools (Claude, Copilot, Cursor, etc.) as part of your workflow
  • Critical thinking - you can look at a fast-moving product and figure out a sensible automation strategy
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote team that ships often

Nice to have

  • Experience with API testing and contract testing
  • Background in SaaS, ideally with multi-tenant products
  • Exposure to performance or load testing
  • Some manual testing background (so you understand what you're automating)
