QA Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:Β 

The (Contract) QA Engineer is part of New York City Tourism’s Product Development team and will be responsible for the day-to-day testing needs as it pertains to product releases and regression testing on the website, including accessibility/ADA compliance, cross-browser, and device testing. You will develop and execute testing scripts and documentation in regard to best practices.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the discovery, reporting, tracking and verification of bugs, ongoing site evaluation and reporting on inconsistencies or issues, as well as creating QA guidelines to encourage ongoing best practices. This person will work within the development team to deliver
accurate and precise releases and products for the website.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Β 

  • Verify that fixes for defects and new features work as expected and do not cause regressions in affected areas, including cross-browser testing.
  • Accessibility testing to make sure new and existing features are compliant with ADA requirements.
  • Compare code and feature implementation against requirements/scope.
  • Ongoing site evaluation and reporting on inconsistencies or issues.Β 
  • Discover, report, track, and verify bugs and their fixes utilizing JIRA's ticketing system.
  • Help us move toward an automated testing framework with CI/CD pipeline integration.

QUALIFICATIONS:Β 

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience testing a multi-language, responsive, modern website application.Β 
  • Available 15-20 hours per weekΒ Β 
  • Experience with JIRAΒ 
  • Experience with Accessibility testing compliant with ADAΒ 
  • Experience in planning, preparing, and executing functional, integration and user acceptance testing.Β
