Position Summary:
We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) software engineer to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs. Team follows hybrid (3 days/week βin-officeβ), flexible working hours and operates roughly between 3 pm β 11 pm IST to align with USA mornings.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Β Collaborate with UX/UI designers and Product Managers to understand end-user requirements and provide timely and meaningful feedback. Help conduct impact assessment for every change.Β
- Review requirements, specifications, UX/UI and technical design documents to translate them into test plans.Β
- Understand the needs of users and customers at the beginning of each projectΒ
- Create and execute detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.Β
- Conduct thorough testing of APIs, databases (SQL), and user interfaces to ensure comprehensive test coverage.Β
- Identify anomalies, review defects at earliest stage and Open JIRA artefacts for engineers to fix.Β
- Collaborate with product managers and development engineers for End to End Quality and Automation needs.Β
- Contribute to effectively Automating the Manual Tasks so as to reduce the manual efforts and minimize the production incidents with each releases.Β
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet customer needs.Β
- Utilize a comprehensive understanding of software design principles, data structures and design patterns to write Test Automation code following best practices.Β
Job Duty: Time Spent Performing Duty
Automation Testing = 70%
Manual Testing = 30%
Required Abilities and Skills:
- Experience with Coding/scripting skills and strong hands-on experience on Web based automated tools like Playwright/ Selenium ensuring high quality and reliability of software applications.
- Knowledge of execution of automated test cases and API automation testingΒ
- Solid knowledge of SQL, Rest APIs, Junit /TestNG, Typescript, and relevant scripting.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug automated test scripts to address issues and improve test efficiency.
- Good to have experience of Performance Testing
- Passionate about Overall Quality of the Application with Automation First approach.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and proactive communication abilities.
- Exposure of working in an Agile/Scrum development process is added value.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelorβs degree in Engineering (computer science, IT or related fields).Β Β
- 3-5 yearsβ work experience in quality assurance with software development teams.Β
- 2+ years of experience in automation frameworks in BDD β Gherkin and CucumberΒ
- Domain knowledge in building efficiency, HVAC systems, and energy is a plus.Β
- Experience to handle cross browser and multiple device compatibility issuesΒ
Travel:
This role does not involve anyβ―internationalβ―travel.
