Who You Are
We’re looking for a hybrid QA Engineer & Release Manager who can help us maintain extremely high product quality while accelerating our shipping velocity using your expertise. You’ll sit at the center of our development and deployment process—owning test coverage, ensuring stability across platforms, and orchestrating smooth, frequent releases.
What You’ll Do
Own QA testing and release management across desktop (Electron/React), iOS, and Android apps
Develop and maintain automated and manual test cases for functional, regression, and performance testing
Build CI/CD pipelines and manage release calendars with engineering and product leads
Ensure high-quality builds by managing test environments, release branches, and build artifacts
Coordinate with engineers, designers, and PMs to test new features, triage bugs, and verify fixes
Push for continuous improvement in QA and release workflows, coverage, and reliability
Act as a gatekeeper for production—balancing speed with stability
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of experience in QA, release engineering, or related roles
Experience testing cross-platform applications (especially Electron, iOS, and Android)
Proficiency with QA tools like TestFlight (used by Packsmith), Playwright, Xcode UI tests, Espresso, TestRail, etc.
Familiarity with CI/CD systems like GitHub Actions, Bitrise, CircleCI, or Fastlane
Strong scripting/debugging skills (JavaScript, Python, Bash, etc.)
Excellent communication and project management skills—you can herd cats and ship code / product fast with great attention to detail!
A bias for action and a passion for polished, stable, and delightful product experiences
Familiarity with release requirements and processes for the App Store and Google Play -- as well as everything required to release the app in the US and globally.
Nice to Have
Experience working in a startup or fast-paced release environment -- or a strong desire to be part of this type of environment
Exposure to analytics, crash reporting, and release monitoring tools (e.g. Sentry, Firebase, Amplitude)\
Shopify experience and Shopify app store experience
