QA Engineer Automated Level: 2
Austin, Texas
6 months Contract

Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
β€’ Develops detailed test plans for complex computer applications.
β€’ Reviews user requirements and works to resolve discrepancies and clarify processes.
β€’ Writes and edits detailed test cases based on business user requirements and functional specifications.
β€’ Employs automated testing tools to perform functionality testing, including, functional, regression, and system tests to ensure that product is working as expected.
β€’ Mentors other team members on use of automated functionality testing tools
β€’ Assists in conducting and coordinating all phases of testing.
β€’ Assists functional users involved in User Acceptance Testing and helps verify test results.
β€’ Documents expected and actual test results and records bugs using an automated bug-tracking tool.
β€’ Identifies issues as a result of testing and coordinates resolution.
β€’ Documents test status, outcomes and metrics.
β€’ Assists with coordination and verification of various levels of sign-off.
β€’ Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.
β€’ Complies with all applicable agency policies and procedures, including safety and standards of conduct.
β€’ Performs on-call or scheduled after hours work as required.
β€’ Performs other duties as assigned by the manager of Quality Control.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
β€’ Attends meetings and calls regularly and punctually.

Qualification Requirements
Education and Training:
β€’ Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. Each year of related experience over the required may be substituted for one year (30 semester hours) of required college credit.

Experience Requirements
β€’ 7 years experience in progressively demanding quality assurance processes and techniques over the full software lifecycle: implementing, upgrading and maintaining.
β€’ 5 years experience in testing PeopleSoft Pension, Benefits Administration and Financials.
β€’ 4 years experience in testing SharePoint /K2
β€’ 4 years experience in testing .NET
β€’ 4 years experience in functionality testing using HP Quick Test Professional (QTP) / Unified Functional Testing (UFT) tool.
β€’ 3 years experience in using SQL to create queries.
β€’ Proficient in the use of VB Script
β€’ Understanding of Information Security and Artificial Intelligence concepts
β€’ Experience with Microsoft Office products.
β€’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
β€’ Extensive knowledge of the quality assurance process and techniques over the full software lifecycle.
β€’ Must be proficient in the use of automated functionality testing tools.
β€’ Ability to perform testing in a large, highly integrated system.
β€’ Must possess sound analysis and documentation skills.
β€’ Must have excellent communication skills to work with all aspects of the IT organization as well as functional users and management.
β€’ Must be capable of attaining and sustaining the cooperation of other personnel within the agency.
