Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced and detail-driven Quality Assurance Manager to oversee all quality control and assurance activities in our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in rubber production processes, industry-specific quality standards, and continuous improvement strategies. This role is critical in ensuring our products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead the QA team by implementing systems for inspections, testing, and quality audits throughout the production processβfrom raw materials to finished goods. - Monitor and analyze key quality indicators (e.g., defect rates, customer complaints, scrap/rework data) and implement corrective/preventive actions. - Lead root cause analyses (RCA) and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs). - Coordinate with production, R&D, and maintenance teams to resolve quality issues and optimize processes. - Implement new process and documentation for New Product Development (NPD) and PPAP - Define KPIβs and implement a process to monitor departments related to manuafcturing and customer service at an interval of 6 months. - Lead, develop, implement and train production employees to drive quality improvements and production efficiency (eg: incoming raw material testing, in process/ final product inspections and other production related activities) - Prepare and maintain documentation required for audits, compliance, and customer requirements. - Interface with customers and suppliers on quality-related issues, external audits, and continuous improvement projects. - Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations applicable to the manufacturing industry. - Train staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and regulatory updates. - Develop a plan to implement and track the maintenance shedule of all assets related to production and quality departments. - Keep yourself updated with the latest industry safety and quality standards, recommend new process improvements backed by data to managing partners. - Ensure data driven process improvements. (idea generation and implementation of atleast one new process improvement every 6 months) - Find out and co-ordinate with respective certification agencies for manufacturing quality standards certification ( eg: ISO, IATF, British standards etc) - Develop, implement, and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) specific to rubber manufacturing standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the rubber or polymer industry. - Familiarity with rubber testing methods (e.g., hardness, tensile strength, elongation, abrasion, aging tests). - Solid understanding of industry standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ASTM, RoHS, REACH). - Strong problem-solving skills with experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar methodologies. - Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills. - Proficient in quality software tools, statistical process control (SPC), and Microsoft Office Suite. - Certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma, or Lead Auditor are a plus. Preferred Experience: - Experience with extrusion, molding (injection/compression), or calendaring processes in rubber manufacturing. - Hands-on experience with compound formulation or mixing operations. - Working knowledge of ERP and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
