Duties & Responsibilities

ENVIRONMENT:

A leading Rental Service Provider in Johannesburg seeks an ambitious QA/Software Tester with a minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience to own the day-to-day testing processes. Initially your core focus will be Manual Testing to ensure system quality and stability. Over time, you will take the initiative to introduce Automated Testing, creating basic Regression scripts, setting up the automation test environment and streamlining our release process. Applicants will need at least 2 years’ Manual Testing experience in an Agile environment with a strong grasp of Test Design, Boundary Testing, API Testing (Postman), and basic Database Querying (SQL) & hands-on exposure or personal projects using an automation framework (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium) with basic coding skills (JavaScript/TypeScript or Python).

DUTIES:

Manual Testing & Execution –

  • Design and execute Functional, Regression, Integration, and Exploratory test cases for web and mobile applications.

Defect Management –

  • Identify, document, and track bugs through to resolution in Jira/Azure DevOps, collaborating closely with Developers.

API Testing –

  • Validate Backend logic, data flows, and endpoints using tools like Postman.

Introduce Automation –

  • Identify repetitive manual tests and build maintainable automated test scripts (e.g., using Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium) to build out the initial automation suite.

Quality Ownership –

  • Maintain clear test documentation and advocate for product quality across the software lifecycle.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Manual Testing experience in an Agile environment.
  • Manual Testing Core: Strong grasp of Test Design, Boundary Testing, API Testing (Postman), and basic Database Querying (SQL).
  • Automation Exposure: Hands-on exposure or personal projects using an automation framework (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium) with basic coding skills (JavaScript/TypeScript or Python).
