LRS Consulting Services is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer for a contract opportunity (with remote work options) with our financial client in downtown Chicago, IL! Responsibilities:

• Work directly with developers, QA, and product owners to facilitate integration testing across a variety of products and platforms
• Design and deliver automated integration test suites that validate APIs, service orchestration, data flows, and error/edge cases.
• Build and maintain test harnesses, stubs/mocks or service virtualization as needed to exercise integrations in isolated test runs.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure they run reliably across environments (dev → staging → pre-prod).
• Execute and debug integration test failures; produce clear defect reports with reproduction steps, logs, and suggested root-cause leads.
• Maintain and evolve test code, test data management, and CI test orchestration for repeatability and scalability.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in QA Automation in enterprise software engineering environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript based QA Automation Frameworks, including Cypress (preferably) &/or Playwright.
• Demonstrated experience focused on integration testing (incl., APIs, service-to-service flows, end-to-end data paths, etc.).
• Practical experience testing RESTful APIs
• Experience setting up automated test runs for integration testing.
• Strong debugging skills across environments: reading logs, reproducing failures, and isolating integration causes.
• Working knowledge of containerized test environments (e.g., Docker); ability to work with environment configuration and test orchestration, preferred.
• Proven ability to closely partner with non-technical Product Owners & Stakeholders to ensure success of cross-functional and cross-departmental projects.

Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $50 - $70 per hour, depending on experience.
Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
