QA Automation Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Planning:Β Establish and coordinate the overall automation test strategy based on test plans written for each Sprint ticket.Β Ensure there is an automation test strategyΒ for backlog manual test cases.
  • Automation Development:Β Lead the design, development, maintenance, and execution of robust and scalable automated test scripts and frameworks (UI, API, backend).
  • Team Leadership:Β Manage, mentor, and guide junior QA automation engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Process Improvement:Β Drive the adoption of QA best practices and integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines for seamless and efficient release cycles.Β Β 
  • Collaboration & Reporting:Β Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to triage bugs, manage the defect lifecycle, and report on key quality metrics and progress to leadership.
  • Problem Solving:Β Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, troubleshooting problems within the systems under test and ensuring timely resolution.Β

Work Experience Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in QA automation or as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), including experience in a lead or senior role.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Strong programming skills in languages such asΒ Java, Python, or JavaScript.
    • Extensive experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g.,Β Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG, PlaywrightΒ or similar).
    • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems.
    • Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured) and database technologies (SQL/NoSQL).
    • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Other Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of AI driven QA Approaches.
  • Exposure to self healing Test AutomationΒ 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Experience working with team members located in different time zones.
