About the role:


As the Senior QA Engineer you will lead and champion quality assurance practices across the product development lifecycle. In this role, you will act as a QA expert within the team, owning end-to-end QA activities, from planning to release, to ensure quality is integrated at every stage of development.

Β Current Technical Environment:Β Β Β 

  • App tools and languages: Kotlin, Java, Gradle, Rest API, Reactive programming (LiveData, RxJava), DaggerΒ 

  • Testing tools and languages: Appium, Java, TestNG, Zephyr, Android SDKΒ 

  • Application Architecture: Scalable, resilient, event-driven, secure multi-tenant product integrated with kiosk hardwareΒ 

  • Cloud and DevOps: CI/CD pipelines managed via GitHub ActionsΒ 

  • Monitoring: Sentry, Amplitude, CanopyΒ 

  • Other tools: Jira, Confluence, Postman, Android StudioΒ

What you will do:Β Β 

  • Lead the QA process for our Android kiosk application, setting high standards for testing practices and product qualityΒ 

  • Align QA practices with broader enterprise testing strategies to support consistency and scalability across the kiosk productΒ 

  • Work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to define testable requirements and proactively prevent defectsΒ 

  • Design and execute manual and automated tests to ensure coverage of critical user journeys and real-world kiosk scenarios including performance, stability, and usabilityΒ 

  • Act as a quality advocate within the team, proactively identifying risk areas and defining test strategies early in the development cycleΒ 

  • Collaborate with Android engineers to ensure test coverage at the appropriate levels, promoting shared ownership of qualityΒ 

  • Integrate and maintain automated tests within CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and efficient test coverageΒ 

  • Provide mentorship and support to other QA team members, helping to raise the team’s technical and collaborative standardsΒ 

  • Take initiative to identify gaps in tooling, process, or coverage and lead efforts to address them.Β 

  • Work alongside support and engineering teams to monitor app quality post-release using logs, crash reports, and user analyticsΒ 

  • Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategiesΒ 

What we are looking for:Β Β 

  • Around 6+ years of experience in QA, with a strong focus on test automationΒ Β 

  • Hands-on experience with Android UI automation tools, such as Espresso and AppiumΒ 

  • Strong experience testing REST APIs using tools like Postman or similar frameworksΒ 

  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and mobile testing best practicesΒ 

  • Experience testing Android apps in device-constrained environments (e.g. kiosk mode, limited connectivity, hardware dependencies)Β 

  • Proven ability to design and maintain robust automated test suites (API, UI, and integration).Β 

  • Working knowledge of CI/CD tools and integrating automated tests into pipelinesΒ 

  • Familiarity with performance and/or security testing is a plusΒ 

  • Comfortable writing test plans and exploratory test scenarios tailored to user behaviourΒ 

  • Strong collaboration skills; able to work closely with developers and product teamΒ 

  • Previous experience in working with hardware devices, particularly with kiosks is a plusΒ
