Senior QA/Test Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior QA/Test Engineer to join our team at our Rawalpindi office. In this role you will be working with a UAE-based client, leading test strategy and automation for AI, data, and platform projects.

You will work closely with engineering, data science, and product teams to ensure the highest standards of quality across web services, data pipelines, and GenAI features — all from the comfort of our Pakistan office.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone who brings strong hands-on automation experience, a sharp eye for quality, and the confidence to lead and mentor others. You should be equally comfortable diving deep into technical testing as you are engaging with stakeholders and driving quality culture across teams.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in designing automation frameworks, experience across cloud and CI/CD environments, and the ability to blend manual exploratory testing with smart, risk-based automation strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Test Strategy & Quality Ownership

• Define, own, and continuously improve test strategy, test plans, and quality KPIs across all projects
• Embed quality by design principles from the earliest stages of development
• Ensure security, reliability, and performance are validated at every stage of delivery
• Establish and maintain test data, mocks, and environments for reliable and repeatable pipelines

Test Automation

• Build, maintain, and scale robust automation suites covering API, UI, and integration testing
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with quality gates and detailed reporting
• Champion automation-first, risk-based testing approaches across the engineering team

Testing Coverage

• API Testing — contract testing, schema validation, authentication flows, idempotency, negative and edge case coverage
• Performance & Stress Testing — load, soak, and spike tests aligned to SLIs/SLOs with regression baselines
• Security Testing — OWASP Top 10 checks, JWT and session handling, role and permission validation, TLS hygiene, and common injection vectors
• Data & ML Workflows — dataset validation, pipeline integrity checks, model serving smoke tests, and evaluation thresholds wired into quality gates

Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor and upskill associate engineers, raising the quality bar across the team
• Pair with developers to promote a quality-first engineering mindset
• Engage clearly and effectively with stakeholders to communicate quality outcomes, risks, and recommendations

REQUIRED BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

• Strong experience designing and building automation frameworks for APIs, web applications, and services
• Solid exposure to data and ML workflows, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and cloud environments
• Proven ability to blend manual exploratory testing with automation-first, risk-based approaches
• Hands-on experience with Python or Node.js test stacks
• Familiarity with Azure, Azure DevOps, and Dockerised test environments
• Ability to work effectively with international clients and remote teams across time zones

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• ISTQB certification or equivalent testing certification is preferred
