Test Engineer

As a Senior Quality Test Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality manual and automated testing outcomes across projects and BAU initiatives. You will play a key role in analysing requirements, defining test strategies, building automation frameworks, and ensuring testing deliverables are reusable, auditable, and aligned to governance standards.

You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, architects, vendors, and business stakeholders within Agile and Hybrid delivery environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse functional and non-functional requirements and define test scope and approach
  • Develop Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Scenarios and Test Summary Reports
  • Design, develop and maintain TOSCA automation frameworks and scripts
  • Execute manual and automated test cases across integrated enterprise platforms
  • Perform API testing to validate backend functionality and integration points
  • Estimate effort, resource, and environment requirements for testing activities
  • Manage defects end-to-end and ensure resolution to closure
  • Support creation of test harnesses, stubs and test data
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and quality standards
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
  • Mentor junior testers and contribute to knowledge sharing (Confluence / SharePoint)
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure delivery aligned with design and governance frameworks

Required Experience

  • Strong experience in both manual and automated testing, with a focus on automation-first approaches
  • Extensive hands-on experience with TOSCA automation, including framework implementation and maintenance
  • Proven experience testing complex, integrated enterprise platforms
  • Experience in API testing (including TOSCA OSV)
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC across Agile, Hybrid and Waterfall methodologies
  • Experience with tools such as qTest, JIRA, Confluence, Git, GitHub, Jenkins
  • Experience in defect management and test reporting
  • Cloud testing experience
  • Ability to build test strategies and plans from scratch for web, mobile and API-based systems
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and reporting skills

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Computing, Engineering, Science or equivalent industry experience
  • ISTQB certification (desirable)
  • Advanced TOSCA certification (desirable)

Highly Regarded

  • Experience within Financial Services, Utilities or Telecommunications
  • Exposure to highly integrated platforms (e.g. onboarding, transactional, billing, payments systems)
  • Experience working with third-party vendors in large transformation programs
