Senior Software Tester – Team Lead (CH1166)

Description

Our client, in the financial services industry, is expanding their software development team and is currently recruiting a Senior Software Tester – Team Lead to join the team in their Pretoria office.

This role is ideal for an experienced professional who will take the lead in establishing and leading the software testing function. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining testing strategies, setting up processes, and building a high-performing testing team from the ground up.

Qualifications and experience

• Relevant BSc IT or BCom IT or similar will be beneficial
• ISTQB Agile foundation and ISTQB Advanced certification
• 7+ years of experience in software testing

Responsibilities / Skills

• Define and implement the overall software testing strategy and framework.
• Set up and manage the software testing team, including recruitment and mentoring.
• Collaborate with development and business users to ensure quality standards are met.
• Design and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both manual and automated testing.
• Execute manual test cases and report bugs clearly and accurately.
• Assist in writing and maintaining automated test scripts under guidance.
• Select and implement appropriate testing tools and technologies.
• Drive continuous improvement in testing processes and practices.
• Ensure thorough documentation of testing procedures and results.
• Lead the development of automated test suites for regression and performance testing.
• Monitor and report on test coverage, defect metrics, and quality KPIs.
• Advocate for quality across the software development lifecycle.

Experience

• Agile development and delivery.
• Experience using Azure DevOps or similar tools and implementations of CI/CD delivery pipelines.
• Experience with software test automation tools and frameworks.
• Any SQL language experience and skills will be a great benefit.
• Experience working in the financial services sector will be beneficial.
• Basic understanding or experience using C# or similar language will be beneficial.
• Any management experience will be beneficial.
