Contract Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Hybrid (3 days a week onsite in Kent, WA)
6 month contract (Contract-to-Hire)

We have an amazing opportunity for a Contract SDET (with strong potential to go FTE) to join a well-funded, well-positioned startup and contribute to the growth of a successful B2B SaaS product. In this greenfield development environment you will build and maintain automated test frameworks, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and UX teams to drive seamless releases.

What You'll Do:

• Develop, automate, and execute end-to-end tests to validate real-world user workflows
• Build, scale, and maintain test automation frameworks using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
• Review pull requests (PRs), understand code changes, and ensure adequate test coverage
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, high-quality releases
• Perform API testing to verify data flows between frontend, backend, and external systems
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and UX teams to improve test efficiency
• Monitor and refine automated test strategies to support frequent deployments and maintain system stability

What You Bring:

• 5-10 years of SDET experience
• Strong experience in end-to-end testing for B2B SaaS applications
• Proficiency in TypeScript and expertise writing test automation
• Hands-on experience with modern UI Automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium)
• Bachelor's in Computer Science
• Experience with API testing (Postman, REST Assured, SuperTest)
• Strong understanding of test automation best practices, including Page Object Models (POM) and reusable test components
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment, ensuring efficient test execution and quick releases
