Job Summary

Centuria is seeking a highly motivated Software Test Engineer that works with minimal supervision/guidance to support the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) program in Silver Spring, MD. This is a hybrid-position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with investigations into issues reported in production for root cause isolation.
• Support the critical system used by the National Weather Service to successfully achieve their mission on a daily basis of protecting lives and property
• Execute and track status of tests throughout the lifecycle of a release
• Participate in Agile scrum teams which include cross-functional members of the team.
• Collaborate with our NWS partners on system functionality as it pertains to requirements of the system.
• Maintain the test suite, both automated and manual test cases.
• Interface with the whole SDLC team and ensure the quality of the release delivered to the customer. 

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science, BS in a Math, Science or Engineering related field
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. (Please include your GPA on your resume.)
• Background in weather or weather-based systems
• Experience and knowledge with software testing, the ability to think critically and a proven track record of responsible task ownership and reliable execution.
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust - candidate must be able to pass a National Agency Check (NAC).
