The Division:
NEWSTAR, a product of Constellation HomeBuilder Systems, is the one enterprise resource planning (ERP) software system that grows with home building, condo and land development business. Designed for residential construction projects and business management, NEWSTAR is a production and accounting system that helps make faster business decisions, reduce costs and drive growth.
Constellation HomeBuilder Systems is a division of Perseus, an Operating Group of Constellation Software Inc., a leading provider of software and services to a select group of public and private sector markets.
The Position:
We are looking to hire a SQA Analyst with expertise/experience in manual testing.
β’ The hired individual will work on our NEWSTAR Enterprise product as an SQA resource and help ensure high quality and timely delivery of releases.
β’ The role requires the individual to have outstanding skills in written and verbal English.
β’ The individual must also be able to work until 10 pm PKT time
The successful hire will be located and work out of the Contour Software Karachi office, working as part of the resource-center team, as an extension of the onshore R&D team, located in Markham, Canada.
Qualifications:
β’ EXCELLENT English verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Degree in computer science or related field.
β’ Knowledge/experience with writing and executing SQL queries is necessary.
β’ 2-4 years of experience in manual QA.
β’ A demonstrable understanding of which type of testing to employ at a given time, based on the context of the project and software solution under test, and QA best practices.
β’ Good organizational skills accompanied by consistency in tracking work meticulously.
β’ Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
β’ Responsive team player, self-motivated, quick learning, smart working.
β’ Familiar with the software development lifecycle and quality assurance concepts.
β’ Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
β’ Hands-on experience with various types of testing, and defect management software tooling are recommended.
Responsibilities:
β’ Continuously refreshes and expands the understanding of how and why customers are using our software (use cases).Performs the technical, system, functional, and regression tests that will safeguard the product from bugs through the back-end and through the UI.
β’ Writes SQL queries to validate data integrity and as part of ongoing test efforts.
β’ Documents test plans, test cases, and bugs found during testing in Azure DevOps.
β’ Proactively delivers on all product team deadlines, ensuring testing commitments are handled with risks mitigated, for timely and stable delivery to customers.
β’ Liaises with programmers so that commitments are delivered upon.
β’ Liaises with program manager, business analysts, and technical writers for refining details in user guides and release content; this includes proofreading release notes, and Defect Resolutions for clarity and non-technical customer understanding.
β’ Supports product and QA management as follows:
o Removes duplication within manual QA work
o Removes duplication between manual QA, regression, and automation
o Contributes to estimating test efforts
o Maintains up-to-date documentation
β’ Propagates the use of and reliance of Azure DevOps for reporting, work planning and tracking.
β’ Demonstrates deep caring about user experiences, implementations, what customers are trying to achieve, and ongoing operational success.
β’ Learns at least one new technology or process that can be incorporated into our process or product suite for business and/or customer benefit
