Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Analyst with a strong foundation in actuarial science, defined benefit, and defined contribution plan administration. In this role, you will be responsible for validating the accuracy and regulatory compliance of a national retirement plan administration platform used by third-party administrators, recordkeepers, accountants and actuaries.
The platform supports critical functions for both defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) plans, including plan valuations, non-discrimination testing, actuarial computations, participant allocations, government filings, and plan document generation. You will also manage quality assurance timelines and coordinate the implementation of updates, ensuring timely responses to regulatory changes and alignment with project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
Testing & Validation

β€’ Develop and execute detailed test plans to validate functionality and calculations for both DC and DB plans, including eligibility, contributions, allocations, accruals, and compliance testing.
β€’ Analyze plan documents, specifications, and regulatory updates to ensure accurate implementation across plan types.
β€’ Perform regression, functional, and user acceptance testing to ensure consistency and accuracy of system behavior.
Actuarial Accuracy & Compliance
β€’ Validate defined benefit plan calculations such as funding valuations, service-based accruals, and equivalency testing to ensure actuarial soundness.
β€’ Verify non-discrimination testing logic (e.g., ADP/ACP, 410(b), 401(a)(4), top-heavy) for multi-type combo plans
β€’ Authenticate employee- and employer-level outputs, including employer contributions, deduction limits, and individual participant processing.
β€’ Ensure system compliance with IRS, DOL, PBGC, and ERISA regulations across both plan types, including support for government forms (e.g., 5500 series).
Project & Change Management
β€’ Lead QA efforts within cross-functional projects, ensuring timely completion of deliverables tied to regulatory updates, client feedback, or feature enhancements.
β€’ Coordinate closely with support and development teams to manage and prioritize change implementationsβ€”particularly in response to new legislation (e.g., SECURE 2.0).
β€’ Maintain oversight of QA timelines and proactively mitigate risks that could impact release schedules.
Collaboration & Documentation
β€’ Serve as a key liaison among development, actuarial, and support teams to clarify requirements and validate outcomes for both DC and DB features.
β€’ Provide software developers with detailed documentation and clear depictions of calculation logic, expected system behavior, and problem descriptions to ensure accurate implementation and efficient issue resolution.
β€’ Document test results, validation methods, and workflow logic to ensure audit readiness and knowledge sharing across teams.
Data Review & Integrity
β€’ Conduct rigorous data validation to ensure accurate participant- and plan-level information for use in actuarial calculations, DC allocations, and government filings.
β€’ Support the QA review of data integrations, including payroll and recordkeeping feeds, ensuring clean and consistent data flow across modules.
Required Qualifications
β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
β€’ 3-7 years of experience working with actuarial calculations and complex compliance rules or retirement plan administration.
β€’ In-depth understanding of both defined benefit and defined contribution plan operations and regulatory frameworks.
β€’ Ability to interpret and apply IRS, DOL, PBGC, and ERISA regulations to system testing and documentation.
β€’ Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
