The Division
Optiviq's OptiVision suite, with over 800 applications, streamlines production planning, order fulfillment, and logistics management. Widely used across pulp and paper mills in Canada, Europe, India, Mexico, Middle East, South America, and the U.S., it enhances operational efficiency and provides a competitive advantage in the industry.

The Position
We are looking for an SQA Team Lead to join the Optiviq R&D team. This role requires expertise in both manual and automation testing, along with proven experience in leading QA teams, defining testing strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and timely delivery of product releases, mentoring team members, and driving continuous improvement in QA practices.

Working out of the Contour Software Karachi office, the Team Lead will collaborate closely with colleagues in Karachi as well as distributed teams in the US.

Required Qualifications & Skills
β€’ 5+ years of experience in software QA, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
β€’ Strong understanding of the software development life cycle and QA methodologies.
β€’ Proven ability to lead and mentor QA engineers, delegate tasks, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
β€’ Experience with functional, regression, and user acceptance testing in enterprise environments.
β€’ Skilled in test planning, test case design, and defect management across the release cycle.
β€’ Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders including developers, product owners, and US-based teams.
β€’ Hands-on experience with build deployments, test environment setup, and release readiness.
β€’ Working knowledge of SQL for validation and troubleshooting.
β€’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
β€’ Detail-oriented, proactive, and organized, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills
β€’ Familiarity with automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) and an interest in expanding automation coverage.
β€’ Experience testing REST APIs with tools like Postman or Swagger.
β€’ Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and collaboration with DevOps.
β€’ Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Azure DevOps Test Plans).
β€’ Prior experience working with US-based or other English-speaking teams.
β€’ Interest in QA process improvements and establishing best practices.
