Test Engineer
Location: Huntsville, AL
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite (Closed Area Environment)
Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret Clearance
Travel: Up to 10%
Position Overview
We are seeking a Test Engineer to support the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Fire Control team. This role will focus on requirements verification, system integration, test planning, test execution, and automation efforts within a complex missile defense environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing and executing test procedures, supporting software integration and verification activities, and working throughout the systems engineering lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans, test procedures, and test cases
- Support system integration, verification, and validation activities
- Perform manual testing in support of requirements verification efforts
- Create and maintain test artifacts and documentation
- Analyze system requirements, use cases, and design documentation
- Support test execution and capture test results for customer review
- Utilize automation scripting to improve testing efficiency
- Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, and program stakeholders
- Support technical reviews, presentations, and customer discussions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of related experience; OR
- Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience; OR
- PhD and 1 year of related experience
- Active, in-scope DoD Secret security clearance
- Experience with system design, requirements development, and use case analysis
- Experience developing test plans, procedures, and test cases
- Experience with software testing and/or system integration
- Experience executing manual tests for requirements verification
- Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS
- Knowledge of Python and test automation scripting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
- Ability to support a full-time onsite, closed-area work environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program
- Experience with Battle Management or Fire Control systems
- Knowledge of systems engineering across the full Systems Engineering "V" lifecycle
- Experience with software development and requirements verification
- MBSE experience and/or INCOSE certifications
- Experience developing systems engineering artifacts such as:
- Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Specifications
- Use Cases
- System Architecture Descriptions
- Trade Studies
- Technical Design Documentation
