Department Overview
The Business Support Development (BSD) department plays a crucial role in providing system support for various operations between users, clients, and Rakuten businesses. Our department provides diverse services across three main areas: DATA, Business Support/Accounting, and CRM. We strive to ensure the highest quality standards in system delivery and support while pursuing business process optimization and efficiency.

The department provides services in three areas:
DATA, BusinessSupport/Accounting, and CRM. With the expansion of system scale, strengthening quality management has become increasingly important. To address this, a Quality Assurance Lead is being sought to drive improvements in testing processes and lead overall quality initiatives. This role is part of the QA team overseeing business support services, responsible for establishing and maintaining consistent quality standards. Close collaboration with users, clients, and internal stakeholders is required to build a quality assurance framework that meets business needs.
Position Details
- Monitor and report on Quality metrics, deep dive and identify trends/root causes.
- Work closely with the Product Management Team and Development Team to define and refine system test specifications
- Maintain high performance culture and improve process for bottom performers through standardized processes and QA efforts.
- Review and assign tasks to team members (including Outsource management).
- Multi-project management (including Onsite/Offsite management).
- Test plan / design / implementation.
- Test perform (including collaboration with Outsource).
- Maintain test artifacts.
- Prepare daily & weekly reports.
Work Environment
The QA team consists of 5 to 10 members and operates in a global environment where both English and Japanese are spoken. Active discussions and exchanges of opinions are encouraged as part of daily QA activities. Regular one-on-one meetings are held to ensure a safe and secure working environment where team members can feel comfortable and supported.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Over 3 years of experience in test strategy planning, test design, and manual test execution.
- Knowledge equivalent to ISTQB Foundation Level.
- Ability to read Japanese specifications and communicate in Japanese.
- Deep understanding of quality assurance methodologies and best practices.
- Experience in defect management and tracking quality metrics.

- API/UI Automation, Development, Non-functional test experience
