We are seeking a Test Engineer (System Test & Troubleshooting) to join our Undersea Warfare Decision Support Team in Manassas, Virginia. In this role, you will perform hands-on system testing, validation, and troubleshooting for advanced software solutions that support U.S. Navy operations. The program enhances situational awareness, mission planning, and real-time data sharing across connected undersea warfare platforms.


The ideal candidate will be an early-career engineer or former military professional with experience testing complex systems, executing formal test cases, and working collaboratively in an Agile development environment. This is a full-time position based in Manassas, Virginia. U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret security clearance are required at the time of hire. The annual base salary is $93,000 – $100,000, with final compensation based on experience and skills. Candidates will be paid within this range based on their work experience and capabilities.

Requirements

You’ll be responsible for:

Β Β 

  • Executing formal and informal test cases to validate software functionality, performance, and system behavior.
  • Reviewing, redlining, and updating test plans, procedures, reports, logs, and status tracking documentation.
  • Performing functional, operational, and performance testing on software and integrated systems.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of test scripts, test data, and diagnostic tools.
  • Supporting setup and configuration of test environments, simulators, and associated assets.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to triage, track, and re-test software and system defects.
  • Ensuring all test activities comply with established quality assurance and configuration management processes.

Required Skills:

Β Β 

  • U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret security clearance at time of hire.
  • Ability to follow test procedures precisely and document results accurately.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development environments.
  • Experience with test automation or scripting tools.
  • Working knowledge of systems integration, networking, or Linux/Windows operating systems.
  • Experience generating formal test documentation, test reports, or discrepancy reports (DRs).Β
