Role Summary
The EHR Transition QA Lead is responsible for defining and executing the end to end quality and testing strategy for the enterprise EHR transition. This role works horizontally across all workstreams to ensure system configuration, integrations, workflows, data, and operational use cases are rigorously tested and validated prior to go live.
The QA Lead owns the overall test strategy, test planning, configuration testing, integrated testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect management, tracking, and executive reporting, serving as the single point of accountability for solution quality and readiness.

Develop comprehensive test plans covering:
o Configuration testing
o Functional and system testing
o End to end / cross workstream workflow testing
o Integration and interface testing
o Data conversion and validation testing
o Regression and performance testing
o User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Ensure testing activities align with program milestones, readiness checkpoints, and go live criteria.
________________________________________
Configuration Testing
Own and lead configuration testing across all EHR modules to validate that system build reflects:
o Approved future state workflows
o Standardization and governance decisions
o Clinical, operational, regulatory, and reporting requirements
Partner with workstream leads, clinical SMEs, operations, and the EHR vendor to:
o Define configuration test scenarios and expected outcomes
o Validate role based and end to end workflows
Establish configuration testing as a formal quality gate prior to integrated testing and UAT.
Identify configuration defects or gaps early and ensure timely remediation and re validation.
________________________________________
Cross Workstream Coordination
Collaborate closely with all workstream leads (clinical, revenue cycle, integrations, data, infrastructure, reporting etc.) to:
o Ensure complete test coverage across functional and technical domains
o Coordinate test sequencing, dependencies, and shared scenarios
o Maintain traceability from design decisions to test validation

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Design and lead the UAT strategy and execution approach.
Partner with Training, Change, and Operations leads to:
o Identify UAT participants and approvers
o Develop role based and scenario based UAT scripts
o Coordinate UAT schedules, issue tracking, and remediation
Ensure UAT outcomes are captured, risks are surfaced, and formal sign off supports go live readiness decisions.
Ensure UAT is conducted on validated configurations, minimizing downstream rework.

Reporting & Program Governance
Provide clear, executive level reporting on:
o Testing progress and coverage
o Defect trends and risk areas
o Readiness and quality indicators
Escalate risks, issues, and recommendations to program leadership and governance forums.
Act as a quality advocate, balancing delivery timelines with patient safety, operational readiness, and system stability.
