Test Lead – Portfolio / Program Test Leadership
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid schedule)
Duration: 12+ Months with likely extension
Role Type: W2 contract

Role Overview
Portfolio-level Test Lead responsible for test strategy, governance, risk visibility, and release readiness across a complex, multi-platform Salesforce-centered ecosystem (customer-facing and agent-facing).
This is not a hands-on testing role. The role partners closely with an existing internal Test Lead and reports into Enterprise Quality Leadership. Acts as an accountability and escalation point for testing across multiple concurrent releases.

Scope of Responsibility

  • Portfolio-level test leadership (not project-only)
  • Customer-facing and agent-facing platforms
  • Salesforce-centric ecosystem with increasing complexity

Platforms in Scope

  • Salesforce customer-facing platform
  • Salesforce agent-facing platform (One View)
  • Native mobile applications (iOS & Android)
  • BI layer (Apigee, Kubernetes)
  • Informatica-based backend with multiple ETL jobs

Major Upcoming Initiatives

  • Field Service (Salesforce) implementation in same Salesforce instance
  • CIS replacement
  • High release concurrency (often 10+ simultaneous releases)

Core Responsibilities

  • Test planning and test strategy at portfolio level
  • Test governance and enforcement of QA processes
  • Release readiness and go/no-go risk assessment
  • System integration testing oversight
  • Cross-release dependency visibility
  • Escalation management when testing or delivery is at risk
  • Driving accountability with internal teams and vendors
  • Continuous improvement of QA processes, automation, and efficiency
  • Portfolio-level reporting and weekly status updates to leadership
  • Maintaining visibility into environment availability, data refreshes, and risks

Required Experience & Skills

Experience Level

  • Target: 8–10+ years total testing/QA experience
  • Must have prior Test Lead / Test Manager / Portfolio QA Lead experience

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management
  • Comfortable having difficult conversations
  • Willing to say “no” to release when required
  • Strong governance mindset; enforces process adherence
  • Deep understanding of modern testing practices
  • Experience managing complex, multi-release environments
  • Proven experience with release risk assessment and escalation
  • Comfortable working across onshore/offshore models

Domain / Platform Experience

  • Salesforce testing experience strongly preferred
  • ERP program testing experience acceptable if Salesforce not present
  • Regulated industry experience (utilities, banking, healthcare) = nice-to-have
