Introduction

in2food is a premium food and beverage manufacturer specialising in private label products and our own brand. An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Quality Assurance Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the Quality Control System and Food Safety Procedures (GMP/HACCP), including the development and enhancement of the Total Quality Management System and FSQMS documentation. The position also involves providing effective leadership and management of the Factory Technologists to ensure the highest standards of product quality and safety.
 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain, implement, and continuously improve the Food Safety and Quality Management Systems (FSMS/QMS).
  • Ensure full compliance with GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, customer standards, and internal policies.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the Factory Technologist.
  • Oversee traceability systems for raw materials and finished goods, ensuring all products meet required specifications before dispatch.
  • Conduct and lead internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution and prevention of non-conformances.
  • Review and interpret microbiological and analytical data, identify trends, and implement improvement initiatives to enhance product safety and quality.
  • Manage customer complaints through root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and regular performance reporting.
  • Support factory trials, pre-productions, and new product launches to ensure alignment with food safety and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain effective training programs to build technical capability and ensure compliance with food safety requirements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and proactive problem-solving across technical and production teams.
  • Manage and drive an efficient and motivated technical team, providing proactive support to operations.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring ongoing compliance with audit and customer requirements.
  • Reduce quality deviations and improve performance across key KPIs (for example, complaints, audits, microbiological results, RTVs).
     

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Minimum BSc in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field (or equivalent qualification).
  • 5–10 years’ experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing or processing environment.
  • Strong background in Food Safety and Quality Management Systems (FSMS/QMS), including 
    GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, and/or BRC standards.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams.
  • Experience working directly with Woolworths Technologists
